Back in February of this year, Jack Rose’s owner Bill Thomas traveled to Kentucky’s

Maker’s Mark distillery to create the bar’s own Maker’s 46 barrel of bourbon, blending a

variety of wood staves, ranging from roasted French mocha to baked American oak.

After a ten-hour tasting and experimentation session, Thomas settled on the perfect

barrel and after several additional months of aging, it is finally ready to be enjoyed by the

public, at $7/pour all night.

And melding the worlds of bourbon and beer, Jack Rose Beer Director (and king of brew

collaborations) Nahem Simon sent the used barrel to DC Brau to create an exclusive

bourbon barrel-aged Belgian Double IPA, dubbed the Belgian Space Reaper 2.0, which

they’ll also debut this evening. Jack Rose will be the only place to taste both this one-

time beer and the bourbon from the barrel in which it was aged.

Beam representative John Vickersmith of Maker's Mark will be on-site from 5-8pm to

hand-dip complimentary Maker's Mark glasses in their signature red wax for guests

(while supplies last). Maker’s Mark’s bourbon-infused cigars will be available for

those who would like to complement their drams with a bit of smoke, as will a special

menu of Maker’s Mark cocktails.
